These bayou paintings were inspired by the marshlands along the gulf coast of Louisiana where I spent the summer of 2005 working on the film "Little Chenier". I was the production Designer - the screenplay was written by Bethany Ashton Wolf and Jace Johnson and directed by Bethany Ashton Wolf.
"Little Chenier" is a Cajun story about two brothers living on a houseboat in the bayous. We filmed the movie in almost every corner of Cameron and Calcasieu Parishes - from Kinder and Moss Bluff to Lake Charles, Westlake, Creole, Cameron, Hackberry and Little Chenier. We borrowed houseboats and fishing camps, props and boats, antiques and chickens, and uniforms and cars - all so generously loaned by the Cajun people for use on the film!
May I extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to all who helped us!
